This specialist will be a member of the CNET ChannelOnline development team. ChannelOnline is a web-based quoting, procurement and website-hosting tool for Value-Added Resellers (VARs) of computer and electronic products in the United States. (www.channelonline.com)

Requirements:

Knowledge:

Has a solid understanding of operating systems and networking, HTTP and web client to web server interactions, relational databases, SQL. Has a working knowledge of the Linux operating system and its environments, mastery of Perl, HTML and SQL in a Linux or Unix environment. Good written & oral English.

Experience:

At least 6 years of experience doing web development using Perl in a Linux or UNIX environment, working with the Linux operating system and its environments, working with software design, and with testing, and documenting complex software systems. Experience in HTML, Perl, SQL, JavaScript, XML, Object-Oriented development and UNIX or Linux. Plusses: embedded Perl, MySQL, AltaVista, Lucene, Java.

Responsibilities:

Development, focused on enhancing product search capabilities and performance, creation of new functionality in the website-hosting module, maintaining and enhancing some of the existing core code.

Working conditions:

Working schedule: 12pm-9pm 3 times a week, 3-month trial period, good social benefits.

Salary 2000 - 2500$.
