Всем день добрый.

Стоит Debian c KDE. Не поменять разрешение экрана. Правил xorg.conf, создавал новый через Xorg-configure, результат нулевой, при том что если в ксорге ставлю недопустимые параметры иксы не поднимаются, а при допустимых параметрах система не реагирует и разрешение не поменять. В итоге сейчас xorg.conf имеет такой вид (сконфижен через xorg-conf, параметры модлайна взяты из gtf):

В Вашем xorg.conf в явном виде указано разрешение 1024x768

Можете попробовать указать здесь несколько приемлемых разрешений.

Но совренным решение считается не использовать xorg.conf. Попробуйте удалить его (лучше переименуйте), перезапустить иксы

и настроить разрешение утилитой xrandr (или через настройки рабочего стола).
